The things that happen when your back is turned for 2 minutes. Nathan is getting a good scrubbing in the tub tonight!

The boys received several new books for their birthdays and they climbed up in their Dad's chair to read one of them together. You'll notice both boys have their right sock off. They copy one another to great degrees. I had nothing to do with the removal of socks. We now have a hallway overlooking the main sitting area. The big game at night is to throw the ball or any other toy to their Daddy down below. Then he throws it back. They love it!

Thomas now call me Mom. It sounds so grown up. Nathan is super at remembering and using his adjectives. We were eating grapefruit the other day for which he told me it was sour.

The picture of the boys sitting on the back porch together is in the evening light. I'm so happy this house has an outside play area near the kitchen. The rock Matt is standing on is on our new property. We were out trying to finding the boundaries of our land. That's Thomas standing in the tree fork. I wanted a family picture with our 2 year olds!

I haven't had as much time recently to blog the cute things the boys do so as I remember them, I'll tell you about them. Here's one:

A few weeks back and at the old house, I put the boys to bed. I usually rock each of them until they go to sleep or as was the case this night, until they want to lay down in their bed. Nathan was fast asleep, Thomas wanted to lay in his bed. I tucked him in and headed back to the kitchen to finish up the dishes. Probably 15 minutes later, I was finished up and was headed to bed. There was Thomas, plunk in the middle of the couch in the living room, wrapped in a blanket, teddy bear in hand, happily and quietly reading a book. He smiled at me and patted the couch next to him. So we read books for awhile!

I signed the boys up for the last session of ice skating. I figured out today what seems to be going on. They are bored. They just haven't seemed into it. One of the games they play often is scatter the toys and send the kids after them to pick up. Nathan just stands there. Thomas will get a few toys but you can tell they need something different. We bought them very small hockey sticks for their birthdays. They have a blast hitting balls around the house. I think next skating lesson I'll bring their sticks to use during the second half. Nathan is particularly good at holding the stick with two hands and hitting the ball. Thomas does it mostly one handed and we usually have to tell him to keep the stick down.

This afternoon was the first time I felt "left-out". Nathan and Thomas kept busy a long while playing together, whether it was reading together, rolling around on the couch cushions together, throwing the ball back and forth or sticking silverware in the cracks in the floor together. I even saw Thomas leading Nathan by the hand, I guess he had something to show Nate. It is so neat having twins.

No, the boys haven't started wearing glasses....just trying on mommy's and daddy's. Poor Nathan needs a nose if he plans to wear glasses.

We've moved to a new home in the same town this past week. The boys have been good with all the commotion and new surroundings. There is nothing like a child-like trust. They just trust us that everything is okay and so they just go along with it.

Today the boys turned 2!
