Cuteness!

These are pictures I tried taking for the holiday card...the ones that were cute but just didn't make the cut!
The overall brothers! Aren't they cute!
I love Sam's double chin!
And this is why we don't bother with a nice lawn! That is Nathan in the middle though he is looking rather stealthy!
Sam continues to grow and twist us all around his pudgy little pinky. He sits in a bouncy seat on the kitchen counter while I work and he has figured out that if he waves his foot in the air, that he can bounce the seat himself. He really gets it going! He is reaching for things now and holding toys in his hands. He has been sucking on his fingers and drooling enough that people are asking me if he is teething....I don't feel anything yet.

Just a quiet morning

Before Sam's bath.  Every time he sees the camera, he sobers up.  I had him giggling yesterday for the first time.
Bath time!  Look at those thighs!
All cleaned up!

Sam and his Visitors

Henry M. and Sam
Henry, Christine and Sam
Jenny G. with the Rider boys

Aunt Margie, cousin Lauren and Sam

Dan H. and Sam

Official ruling from Grandma....Sam has lost his newborn cry. He has learned the fun of fake coughing...so very adorable.  He sits on the counter in his bouncy seat and does his little coughing act to get me over to him.

Halloween Weekend

Three cute boys! They are still asking to hold Samuel. As soon as he starts squirming, Thomas says, 'I'm all done.' Nathan ask pretty near every day to hold him. He really enjoys Samuel. Nathan is very helpful with pacifier duty. As soon as he hears Samuel, he'll go in search of the pacifier and then give it to him. Thomas just walks around with his hands on his ears. Not that Samuel cries often, but it does happen.

Grandpa and Thomas putting together a Lowes wood project. It is a castle with a ramp for mini golf. The boys use it minus a club and ball....it's a prop with their matchbox cars, army men or airport set.

Grandpa and Samuel. Matt's parents came Halloween weekend to see how it goes with us. Unfortunately, we got about 8 inches of snow the Saturday night before. We lost power that night and had none until the next Wednesday afternoon. Good thing for generators, flashlights and woodstoves! Oh, and fry pans! It really went very well except that trick or treating was canceled. The boys did get some trick or treating in at the mall that afternoon (the army-men get-up) and then they went in Hopkinton a week later (pirate Tom; I forgot to get a picture of Nathan and he was funny!  He was dressed in a power ranger outfit with 3 pairs of pajamas underneath....the first time I've seen Nathan look rolly-polly!).

My dad working with T and N frosting a birthday cake.
Nathan told me the other night while we were snuggling that it was all right if his kisses were wet and I wiped off the wetness because the love would still stick on my cheek.

Samuel had his two month check-up. He weighed in at 12 pounds, 4 ounces! He had three needles and an oral vaccine. I am glad they have developed a rotovirus vaccine as I remember the boys (and us) it having when they were 1 year old.....it was an awful week. Samuel is doing just fine according to the doctor except that he turns his head the same way when he sleeps and it's getting flat on that side, so we'll work on that.

Samuel with Dr. Travias who helped deliver him.
A quick nap.

Samuel, content on his Mama's lap.

Lillian, Isabelle, Thomas and Nathan
Samuel and Isabelle.
Guess who smiled at his mama on Monday? Samuel! He has been making eye contact the last week and then after a little work, I got a few smiles! I was able to get it again yesterday. I'm still working on it today.

Likeness

Fuzzy hair after a bath.
New use for old bouncy seat.

Who is this baby? An old picture of Matt. When people ask me who I think Samuel looks like, I say I think he is a mini-Matt. This is just one picture that I think shows this.

A Few First

Samuel's first reaction to his bath.  Maybe the water was too hot!  Yikes.

Then he happily settled in.  He went to sleep that night quite well.  He seems to have a hard time settling down after his last feeding.
Rocking on his grandpa's shoulder
Sitting with his grandma.
On the changing table with his new teddy. Thomas and Nathan had the job of finding and choosing a teddy.

Visits and swings

A lovely Monday morning visit from Barbara B.

Samuel trying out the swing. Where are his feet? He looks little here but I can't get over how fast he is growing. He is changing so much right now. I attempted to weigh him on our scale this morning and it registered 9 pounds exactly. His last doctor's visit at 2 weeks old, he weighed 8 lbs 2 oz.

A closer picture of his face....pursed lips...wonder what he is thinking of.

Nathan is so cute with Samuel. Every time Samuel cries and he isn't in my arms, Nathan takes it as a personal challenge to sooth him. Nathan finds the pacifier and does his best to keep it in Samuel's mouth. He still wants to hold him every chance he can.

3 Weeks Old

Just a couple of pictures of Samuel from yesterday and this morning to show him at three weeks. He sure seems tiny in the stroller. I was catching the end of a smile in that picture.

Cub Scouts

This picture was taken last Sunday after morning meeting at Roland's. We have a picture of Bruce holding the older boys....a few years back. The third older boy is Joey D. who is 1 year and a couple of months older.

We try to get a picture of the boys next to the Rose of Sharon every year but I think Irene washed most of the blooms away.

The boys at their first cub scout meeting. One of the things they like the most at this point is the uniform! We bought them on Friday and everyday they try them on.

Thomas next to the flag. The troop has some hikes planned for this fall. Monday night they had a paper airplane contest, did some coloring and generally got to know one another though I think all the boys are in the first grade at BMS.

Nathan next to the flag.

Samuel had his two week check-up last Friday. He weighed in at 8 pounds, 2 ounces. He passed his birth weight! The doctor said he was doing so well that I could let him sleep as long as he wants at night. The last several days, he has slept from 10pm to 4 or 5 AM! It's great! Today we go for pictures at JCP.
