Sport's Picnic

Matt came directly from a business trip to the picnic and his little clone was desperate to get in his arms.  When Matt finally gave him back, I was walking around with Sam in my arms.  Sam spotted his daddy, maybe 12 feet away and literally projected himself out of my arms towards his dad.  I almost dropped him, it was all so sudden.

A Father's day photo!

Sam has started to wave.  He doesn't do it on command but he will do it!  Every time Matt starts up his car, Sam starts to wave...it's like a conditioned response!  Also, he waves to Thomas and Nathan's bus driver almost every time.  He has also started to point, at me from the floor or at himself in the mirror.  All so adorable!

Teeth and other subjects

Thomas has lost his sixth tooth...his bottom right gap!

This little man is learning the escapee routine from the cats!  To ease your mind, that is a plastic, totally flexible toy bowie knife he is clutching by the blade.

Sam was making a racket in his playpen so Nathan (his idea) retrieved him and took him to the piano.  Nathan is very patient and kind with Sam.  He will often stop playing to talk to or hold Sam.

Can you tell just how excited Nathan is to lose his first tooth!  Finally!

Nathan...up to bat.  He is using his dirt-biking gloves which became a hot commodity with the batters.  On one of the innings, Nathan hit the ball, dropped the bat and took off for first leaving his one shoe behind.  He stopped, went back for it, slid it on and took off again for first making it in time!  Boy, do I wish I had video of that.  It was hilarious.

Yummy  stick!  This boy is well on his way to eating his earthly quota of dirt.  He managed to gnaw on a mound of moss during this game.  Last night for the second time he managed to get a fist full of dirt from one of my plants.  I'm hoping he'll realize just how unsatisfying this is and stop...not that I let him do this but it has happened.

Berlin's Bicentennial Parade

We were all very impressed with the parade. We live in a relatively small town (population 2,866) so expected a short parade.  What we received was over an hour worth of floats, bands and groups!

Both boys are looking at me.  Thomas is just behind the lady on the right.  Nathan is in the middle with his right hand up.  They threw candy at me...with the caviat that I was to collect it for them! 

This is looking up Route 62, the parade route.  It wasn't overly crowded but plenty of people to make it feel festive.

This is their school which is where the parade ended.  I happen to notice that the students put Happy 200 Berlin in the windows.  I thought it was a nice touch.

Two and a half months later.....

Music on the front deck! While Sunday dinner was being made, we were serenaded!

The bigger boys love sitting with Sam in the play pen which is set up down in our main room. It's pretty crowded with all three, but they do it!

 

Sam is nine months old.  He has been crawling for over a week.  He loves to stand though and has pretty good balance when he lets go.  He has three teeth on the bottom with a fourth just coming through and 2 teeth on top.  He thinks it is really funny to bite your shoulder, so you've been warned!  Last night at dinner he was definitely making the sound for meow and ruff ruff though his favorite is da, da, da, da.    We all have so much fun with him!  He is a jolly little fella.  

Thomas and Nathan have two more weeks of first grade!  They are happy to have summer coming but a little sad to think that they will be done with these teachers.  Nathan told me in bed the other night that his favorite teachers are Miss Pini and Mrs Bennett (his only teachers!).  I did learn that they will continue to separate the boys in second grade.   I was hoping that they would be together for ease of practicing spelling, etc... but they have been nit-picking each other so much lately that perhaps it's just as well to keep them separate.  The boys have one more week of Little League which they have enjoyed immensely.
