Thomas tells a convenient truth?

We found out at our Christmas meal that Thomas was allergic to squash or at least that was what he told us. He said he better not eat it because he was allergic to it. Then he went on to tell us that he was allergic because he did not like it. How convenient!

Nathan Cutisms

We have a clock in our bathroom mounted on the wall in front of the toilet. Nathan who is very into numbers sits there and calls out the time. He sounds like the town-crier....it's 6:00 (and all is well?!). He seems to be in there on the hour, and knows the hour hands. He does not understand the minute hand yet.

Forgive me if I have already written about this. One day, we were walking in our woods and Nathan tripped over a stump. This was the start of our descriptive falling. He is very careful to say whether it is a hand-plant, face-plant, knee-plant, etc...and corrects me if I get it wrong. I love it!

Just a few Cutisms

We were driving home the other night from meeting and we were discussing Thomas' sweet-tooth. Nathan announces from the back that he has a ham-tooth and a square-cheese-tooth. Of all the cheeses! It's square cheese that he loves!

We were bringing wood into the holder by the fireplace. Nathan was trying to let down his pieces little by little, but they started to fall faster than he could control. Thomas, who was standing right there waiting his turn to set his wood down, had a piece fall on his foot. It hurt and all his pieces went down. Nathan immediately was very concerned for Thomas and asked if he was all right. Thomas, though in pain, assured Nathan he was all right and that it wasn't his fault! I was so impressed how they both reacted. It was all very sweet.

Thomas told me his heart was broken yesterday at Target because I wouldn't buy a toy for him.

Nathan is seriously into counting everything! They both count well up to 12. Nathan stops all or is entirely distracted from whatever we are doing so that he can count whatever he has. It's great!

More Cutisms

Thomas has a word and it's a cross between plan and idea: iplan....as in I have a good iplan. I love these little expressions.

The boys are in a habit recently of doing raspberries every time something doesn't agree with them. I am trying to curtail it as it sounds rather disrespectful directed towards an adult. Thomas did a raspberry, I reprimanded him and he told me it wasn't a raspberry, it was a blueberry. hm....so just what is a blueberry? Sounds a whole lot like a raspberry if you ask me!

Finished painting projects

While driving home tonight, we were following a Cutlass Sierra maybe early 90s vintage and Thomas goes "look at that old-fashion car!"

The boys started their second year of swimming lessons last Thursday. They were so nervous last year when they swam but seem so much more at ease this year. In fact they must of enjoyed it so much that Friday morning dawned and one of the first questions was if they could go to swimming lessons again today. During the class, the four little kids were taking turns letting go of the wall and swimming with the instructor. Nathan was so excited to be swimming that he let go of the wall and was heading towards the instructor...meanwhile she was busy with another. Both the lifeguard and myself sprung up. The instructor was able to get to Nathan...as he sunk. She was so nice to him...no reprimand for going out of turn and giving us all heart attacks...she praised him at how well he did swimming.

Painting and Skating

For Christmas, Thomas and Nathan received these wooden toys to paint. They really enjoyed doing this! They are all painted, next step is to put the stickers on. We had a heat wave this afternoon....it was 36 (and sunny) out so off we went to the neighbors to skate. Notice the new lace-up skates.
