Spring-time
We start them young in Berlin! Just kidding, that's a plastic chainsaw Nathan is sporting. There they are outside in their pajamas gardening with me!
Nathan has decided just recently that bugs are scary. We were busy at the sink in the bathroom and he started to really cry and it was just a lady bug flying around. Poor kid! You should see him with worms in the garden, he takes 3 steps back!
Thomas calls me Jen! I cracked up the first few times because it sounded so strange coming from him. But now I don't turn or answer unless I hear Mommy. Sometimes he does try mommy first and when that doesn't work, he hollers Jen. I really try to keep a straight face.
A few cute sayings:
Tommy Chu-chu
Honey-the-pooh
peek and hide.

The Goggle Brothers
Thomas found his goggles the other day and they are now worn 100% of the time either around the neck or on the face!
Yesterday we were out planting rhubarb. I heard Nathan telling Thomas how to shovel with a big shovel. He said "See Mommy? Foot on shovel." It just cracked me up to hear them.
Any time something hurts Nathan, he says that it bit him. He had a little scratch on his hand and he claims a pine tree bit him. He also proceeded to tell the pine tree to go to time out. He puts all sorts of things in time out.

Quick trip to Albany
Last week we went overnight to Albany to see cousin Benjamin's progress. That's Nathan holding Benjamin in the last photo. What a doll!
I find myself recording here more of what Thomas says as he is quite a bit clearer but Nathan cracks me up with the things he comes out with too. I have to usually ask him to repeat several times which doesn't seem to bug him, thankfully. Last night the dogs were barking up a storm and he started yelling to me that Doodle had bad breath! Them just before bed he was telling us that we should go on a picnic today. Picnic is not a common word with us yet so I was happy to hear him use it in his speech. Nathan almost sounds like he has a NY city accent, it's cute.
Thomas called me sweetheart a few days back! Took me for surprise.
We have a new routine this week. Matt has been going in early to work (6:30) and the three lazy bums sleep in a bit and get downstairs around 8ish. Then after toast and bottles we've been doing an hour of gardening. Please don't come at that time...you'll catch us outside in our pajamas! Hey when you live this far off the road, there are few benefits like running around outside in your jamies. We are working at turning over a vegetable garden.

The first picture shows Nathan with his Daddy's boots. The next picture shows the boys in some very cute outfits that I unfortunately just unearthed in their closet. As you can see they look a little wintery but they are light-weight and very adorable.
I've been enjoying the expressions the boys are coming up with. Thomas says the half-full juice glass isn't many instead of isn't much. His aunt Shelly called to wish him a happy birthday and he told her "I have a new tractor and I can't talk" then he immediately set the phone down.
Some of the not so cute sayings from Thomas are "don't tell me what to do" and "no!" He's been hanging out in time out a little more frequently. We've been asking them to say "may I please be excused, daddy-dear". Nathan is happy to say it but Thomas gets half way through and stops. Finally I asked him why he isn't saying it and he said because he didn't want to. Across the will of nature is a hard course. He's also learned to say sorry when he has made a mess. It drives me batty because he says it even before I'm through talking so I wonder at the sincerity of it!
One very cool story. Matt left a library CD in his new apple computer which I know absolutely nothing about using. I wanted to get the CD out to return it to the library so I told the boys lets figure out how it comes out. Thomas who had watched his Daddy put it in the night before showed me the slot and the eject key on his computer. It worked and I was so impressed because I'm sure Matt didn't specifically show him, just Thomas was paying attention!

Happy Birthday!

Since we have been so bad recently about posting, I am going to quickly put up some pictures. The first pic is of the boys and their grandmother. The boys love to walk up the driveway to get the mail. The next three are from their birthday morning while they opened presents. The fourth pic is of them sharing one of their presents. It wasn't pretty as they both wanted to be on it. At one point, I told Nate that he had to try to share with his brother. He said, "I know daddy, but it's so hard!"
The last three were from the mini party for the boys. Isabelle and her family were there to celebrate!
