Sorry the first picture is out of focus, it was getting late into the evening and was not getting enough light. The picture shows the boys operating a "crane" that they rigged up. They have so much fun together and I love listening to them while they play. Nathan came over to me and told me they were just chit-chatting. They had it down to one of them running the computer to operate the crane and the other was using the levers on the crane. I think they were thinking of the computer screen we could see at the potato chip factory that was used to run the machines.
The next picture shows who did all the grinding of the applesauce last night. Actually, both boys did it and I didn't do any! I love all the help! I just enjoy my boys so much and I feel so thankful to have two healthy, fun boys.
We bought the boys scooters for their birthdays and only recently have they really been used on a daily basis. The scooters are a bit big for (or as Nathan says for most things, "a little bit" It is very cute how he says this expression, so if you are around them, listen for it because you'll smile) the boys and the whole balance thing is tricky. But these scooters have big tires for our mostly bumpy driveway and they take them down to the first hill where there are several puddles to scoot through. I'm glad to see them starting to actually ride them for short distances and not just push them. Although there are times I still remind them to jump on them as they are going down the hill. smile! Can I just say one more time how much fun they have together! Picture coming of my scooting boys.
Last Wednesday, while in Westwood, we went swimming in Cousin Phillip's pool. How lovely! Nathan was wildly jumping in the pool doing mean little cannon balls. Thomas would not jump and would only slide in the side or have me deposit him into the pool. So driving home, he pipes up from the backseat: I should of jumped. I asked, the pool? Yes, Mom. So, he was thinking about this and wishing he had had the guts to jump. I do not force them, of course, and figure in good time he'll have the confidence. Then nothing more was said of it. A second time he brought it up again over the weekend expressing his wish that he had jumped. Perhaps, he'll get his courage up next time having thought about it some in between times.
I can't believe this cool weather. We are already into the hot chocolate and long sleeve jamies! We've had some good raspberry picking and working on canning peaches. The boys are a big help. They slip the peaches out of their skins after they've been blanched. I appreciate the help! Also, have been freezing corn and again I'm quite grateful for little hands! They help me husk the entire bag (about 50 ears). All I need to do is tell a story while we are doing it and they husk away! In fact, I end up just cleaning the last of the silk off each ear.
Jennifer's computer has been replaced, so maybe we'll see some pictures uploaded soon!
Spring....the busy time. We've been going, going, going and loving every minute of it! The boys happily showed off the new chicks to Grandma and Grandpa. A couple of pictures from our library...on the cannon and look carefully up in the tree for a monkey. The boys sitting against the door....what they do when they don't want you (or their grandparents) to leave!
Recently, Nathan has been saying "whatever" to Thomas. Even more recently, the kids have started saying it to us. At first, I was okay with it....they sounded like they were being flexible with each other. Yet when it is said to us, I feel like it comes out disrespectful....so I'm trying not to say it to Matt (where they must of learned it) and I'm trying to teach them to use some other expression with us.
We are still on on the tell me a story kick. The other day, Nathan asked for a story and I told him I had none. So, he cupped his hands, put them up to his mouth and whispered into his hands. Then he handed over the words to me, told me to swallow them, that they were a story. Too cute!
